Today we arrived in Sydney. Not, not the one down under but the one up north.
We weren't due to dock until 10.30 am, so after breakfast we went
to a very interesting talk about the Titanic.
Once docked we went on a short walk. It was very pleasant
along the boardwalk near the ship but there was not much beyond that, so we
returned to the ship for a drink and lunch.
On the table next to us was an American woman who had been
born in the UK. Rather ill-advisably,
she started on about what she called our 'silly' health service and was nicely
put in her place by G. E was so proud! (I
don’t write this stuff! – Ed)
Another beautiful sunrise
Viking Saturn is on its way to Sydney then on to a couple of stops in Greenland before quite a few stops in Iceland where the cruise terminates
Viking Saturn left Halifax before us yesterday but here we are overtaking them as they cruise into Sydney

Talk on the Titanic
As well as the flag of Canada, we have the stars and stripes and the flog of Nova Scotia which features the Scottish saltire. Not sure about the fourth one. Lots of Scottish flavour in Nova Scotia and tartan is in almost every shop!
A tribute to those lost at sea and to those who rescue mariners in distress
Our evening meal was of the usual standard and we were
surprised to get a table without having to wait.
It was then showtime which tonight was a Neil Diamond
tribute. A passenger who was coming out of the show told us it would be
the best show we'd ever seen at sea. Whilst it was good, we have seen better ones,
for example, we saw a Neil Diamond tribute by a man who came second in ‘Stars In
Their Eyes’ many moons ago who, in our opinion, was better. We also saw a member of ELO on our cruise earlier this year and he was truly excellent.
There are a lot of links on board with the SS Normandie which sank in New York in 1942. Why, we don't yet know.
